Rustic Stars

"Made in the same fashion as a granny square (but with more points) and only 3 rounds this adorable little Rustic Star only takes a few minutes to “whip up”. Add a rustic old twine piece, a pretty ribbon, a cute children’s sticker or a button for your own personal touch! difficulty: easy sizes: depends on yarn and needle. Suggested yarn and needle comb = approx 2.5 inch star materials: worsted weight yarn approximately 30 yards I used Loops & Threads Impeccable to produce a star that held it’s shape well without starch 4.25mm hook tapestry needle required stitch knowledge: Ch sc DC Thanks for crafting with me! Im not really sure why the designer considers this project to be an Intermediate and not a Beginner. It only uses the most basic stitches, and after reading through the pattern instructions, I dont find anything fiddly at all. I do agree with the designer about not using starch on this project. If you want really stiff stars, youre better off with actual fabric stiffener.

DO you think that I could make two alike stars, or a red one side and a green the other, and insert a tiny sachet pouch? Don't you think you'd have a lot of fun whipping up a bunch of these tiny holiday star fragrant sachets for last minute gift giving? I know I would. I like both the twine and the ribbon. You could also make a bunch of multi-colored stars and string them together for garland for the tree. Have fun!
