Crochet Frosty Placemat

From the Blogger: “This placemat is super cute with an adorable, chubby snowman to hold your silverware in place. The snowman applique can be used for lots of other projects too. The placemat is a simple variation on the single crochet stitch worked vertically for an interesting texture that forms the background base for the applique and darling edging. Add a little color and fun to your holiday table! Approximately 19” x 14” Designed in worsted weight cotton yarn.”

I do not know what part of this crochet frosty placemat I like the most. The border really sets the mat apart from most mats. Then the fact that frosty can hold the silverware is the best. I love these place mats.

Just like during Thanksgiving, the kids have their own table during Christmas gatherings. This would be a great place mat for the children's table. If I start this week end, I just may be able to pull it off. Oh, who am I kidding!!! Maybe next year!

Im not sure which I like betterthe chipper little snowman or the cheery checkerboard trim around the edge. I love how the snowman wrangles the silverware. That sure would make setting the table a snap. You could also add some touches to personalize the placemat for each guest. And best of all, that snowman could be used as an appliqu all by itself.

Great decorative piece for your dining room table for Christmas dinner or Christmas eve dinner. A great conversation piece and so festive. This placement is super easy to make and not only looks good on your table is serves a dual purpose of helping to protect your table from damage due to hot plates.

It's simple. Easy and cute as can be. I really like snow men. I have to make a few of these and not only on place mats. They will look nice on a table runner too. And to keep my grand daughter happy, I will make a few snow women. I think a border of them on a runner would be great.
