Crochet Hungry Monster Candy Bag

From the blogger: "How much fun would your little one have while walking around trick-or-treating, feeding their own little Hungry Monster Candy Bag? I know Claire sure can’t wait to use this little guy. She and her older brother have been trying to figure out just how much candy this little guy can eat. I used 5 different colors of 100% cotton yarn to make this cute bag, but acrylic and other fibers will work well, too. You can easily use yarn you have in your stash."

I have a pattern that calls for a 2.5mm hook. I've not been able to find it on a conversion chart, the charts I've seen only show 2.25mm or 2.75mm. Does anyone know what a 2.5mm is from the US hooks?

That does look like a hungry little monster, but it looks like a happy little monster too so it wont be frightening any of the kids even when all the kids are taking its candy and will probably be empty by the end of Halloween night. A very unique decorative piece.

I love this bag! It's so cool and I think the grand kids will love it. I read the instructions and it's very easy. Thank goodness because I have to make four of them for them. At least I have the yarn I will need too. Thank you for posting this.

I have several small grandsons right now and they would be all over this project. So would a few of the granddaughters, too! Hes such a unique fellow that Im trying to think how else I might use the design. Wouldnt this make an interesting Christmas stocking alternative? I love how you feed him the candy like a proper monster. Really clever!

This is the most adorable candy bag I have ever seen! It's so much more fun than the usual pumpkin bag.
