Love, love, love this pattern. Ive seen purses made out of raffia at the mall but not a pattern. I would also crochet long straps and put a closure snap to make this a crossbody bag. But as it is does look like a designer bag with the chain and tassel.

I love the idea of working with the raffia. It really is one of the underused materials in crochet. Incorporating actual chain is a clever idea, too. Wouldnt it be fun to take it a step further and attach some beads or other touches to the chain? If you have an old charm bracelet, this might be an interesting way to give it new life.

This clutch is really cute and colorful for spring and summer! The chain and tassel definitely make this clutch look fashionable. Crocheting this clutch with metallic thread would make it look even more glam.
