This Floral Granny Hexagon looks so easy to make. I like it for its simplicity and color used. You can change the color to red and green to make a green and red blanket or afghan.

I guess you could classify this project as a doily even though its a very different from the frilly confections you generally see. My husbands cousin (also an avid crocheter) sent me something very similar from Germany that she had worked up. The hexagon shape makes it seem much more modern, and it would look equally nice under a potted plant or other small floral arrangement.

Use this doily on your beautiful antique dresser top or vanity to protect it from scratches, under your lamp or your treasure/trinket box. It has a nice sheen to it and appears that it would work up fairly easily as it is only made from single, double and triple crochets. I beg to differ- I think if you are an advanced beginner you could pull this off with confidence. Give it a try, you might surprise yourself.
