This hat is so cute and quick to make! I had problems as others did with getting 24 shells in row 5. To fix the problem I pulled out row 5 and 4. Starting again on row 4, I dc & ch 1 in every dc from row 3, skipping the chain stitches. Then when I moved to row 5, I had the correct amount of shells (12). I also skipped the scalloped edge and followed brim directions for a stiff brim from onevirtuouswoman off YouTube. Other comments indicated this brim was not as rigid as preferred.
