"How cute is this Frog Backpack? I made this Toddler-sized - 8 1/2” x 11” x 2”. Perfect size for toddlers/preschoolers. I used double-stranded #4 worsted weight yarn to make it sturdy. The 'belly' portion is a front pocket. With a zipper top, this makes a great bag for young kids to tote their stuff to preschool, to play, to grandma’s house, etc. Plus, this project was completed in one evening. Simple, cute, and efficient!"
Crochet HookJ/10 or 6 mm hook
Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

I wondered how the designer had gotten away with using #4 worsted for this project, but now I see that shes doubling it and working the two strands together. Although she doesnt recommend a brand, I would definitely use Caron One Pound as this particular yarn seems to be the sturdiest even when not doubled. Id love to make a mini version of this, too!
