The Fairytale Shawl

"This pretty shawl is great for all ages and sizes and can be made in multiple or solid colors and still be beautiful either way. This crochet pattern is meant for intermediate crocheters, but beginners and easy-level crocheters would not have a hard time at all making this shawl! Materials needed for this yarn are the very basics: worsted weight yarn, a 5.5mm crochet hook (or bigger/smaller depending on the size of the hand), a stitch marker, scissors, and a tapestry needle. I hope you enjoy this project, thank you so much for being interested!"

This free pattern Fairytale Shawl is included in a publication called Crochet Shawls Easy to Follow Instructions for Beginners by Olga Castillo ISBN-13 979-8570733619 priced at (Australian Dollars) $10 on Amazon and also for about $15 on Book Depository. Your pattern is on page 40 of the (free) Kindle version and it includes two of your photos as well. I dislike theft of someone else's creativity, and claiming it is their own. I'll be attempting this pattern soon. Thanks.

Please define the "puff" stitch

Hi suerover, This is just a link out to the designer's pattern. If you have a comment on the pattern or for the designer, the best place to ask that question and ensure an answer would be directly on the designer's page. :) She'd be able to define the puff stitch she used. Julia, AFC editor

I just love this Fairytale Shawl! The written pattern is well written and so easy to follow and whip up! I know my 3 younger granddaughters will love this, and so will the moms. I love the way the shawl self ripples and it looks so unique like none I have seen before. So great to make something no one else will have. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet shawl pattern.

This is a sweet shawl and I know just the little girl Im going to make it for. One of our church families is going through a medical crisis with their four year old daughter, and Id like to do more than just offer up prayers. Like most little girls her age, she loves fairy tales and dress up. Im working it icy blue ombre color to match her favorite Frozen character Elsa. Shes such a sweet little thing, and were all praying she gets well soon.

Hi, I'm the creator of this shawl. I will be praying for the little girl, how sweet of you to do such a thing for her! You have a great heart.

I wish that I could see this fairytale shawl modeled on a little girl or even the grown-up size being shown on a person, just for frame of reference. The Bernat Pop by Yarnspirations is a fairly thick yarn, seemingly thicker than a regular acrylic worsted weight. It is soft, as well. Great color choice for a "Fairytale Shawl", too.

Hello, I am the creator of this shawl! I plan on taking pictures with my niece modeling it very soon and adding it to the post. Thank you for the great ideas and yes, I thought that about the colors as well!!
