Newborn Trolls Hat

"Aren’t character hats just the cutest? Just take a look at all the beautiful designs out there and you find yourself ‘oohing’ and ‘ahhing’. This crochet trolls hat is made for newborns. It can be worn as a photo prop for baby's first photoshoot. It is a simple and fun pattern to make- the hat itself is shaped as a cone and the fringes attached to it to make the hair. Even though this hat seems for a baby girl, it can also be made for a boy. Just swap the the ribbon for a hair band OR don’t attach the hair at all. Simple!"

Adorable. I love the fringe but if you see the hat before adding the fringe you may consider being a "bald" troll. You will not go wrong with either rendition of the pattern and remember to select some unexpected colors to really make that troll "pop".

So just a piece of advice. I would sew the ribbon in place just so that all of that fringe work will not be undone by accident. The useful tutorials were just that, useful and well appreciated. If you are more than a novice I am sure you will enjoy making this because of the different types of crochet techniques you will be using. I think this is a great newborn hat.

I can see the connection to the Trolls franchise, but if you changed the color of the hair, it could just as easily become an Ogre hat ala Princess Fiona from Shrek. I dont quite understand why the designer uses the green for the entire head and not just the band where the ears are located. It would be much better to work the body of the hat to match the hair color.

I grew up in the time period when trolls were everything. Necklaces, pencil toppers, dolls etc. Now I see them making a come back. This is so cute. And it's very easy and customizable. Boy, girl, it doesn't matter just change the colors. Next I want to see Kilroy was here stuff.

Kilroy was more like my mom's generation, but when are the infamous Rat Fink models making a return? It seems like everything that was old is new again.
