15 Crochet Christmas Ornaments: Snowflakes

By: Christine Weiher, Editor for

Crochet Christmas ornaments are so much fun to make around the holidays. Snow is what makes me think the holidays are just around the corner. Here you can find a beautiful collection of crochet snowflake patterns which is great to add to your free Christmas crochet patterns. Did you know that not a single snowflake has the same pattern. Every snowflake you see falling from the sky has a completely different design to it, neat fact huh? Besides that, snowflakes are just beautiful.

You can do so many things with snow like make a snowman, have a snowball fight, build an igloo, make snow angels and of course in the crafting world you can make crochet Christmas ornaments in the shape of snowflakes. Once you crochet your snowflake you can embellish it in any way. You can add glitter to make it sparkle, you can add beads or you can turn it into a pin or even earrings depending on what size you make it. Here are some of my favorite crochet Christmas ornaments; we're talking snowflakes people!

Bamboo Snowflake- This is such a beautiful crochet pattern that you can use as a crochet Christmas ornament. I think this would also look lovely as a gift topper on one of your gifts to someone. Free crochet Christmas ornament patterns like this are definitely worth your time.

Beautiful Snowflake Pattern- This has to be one of my favorite crochet snowflake patterns, isn't it just gorgeous? The design and technique used to get to the finished project is just exquisite. Bamboo thread was used for this pattern.

Floral Snowflake- Crochet yourself this floral snowflake pattern. It's a neat crochet Christmas ornament because it looks like it takes the shape of a flower in the center of the pattern.

Irish Snowflake- Give this snowflake as a gift to your Irish friends. The largest chain spaces take the shape of hearts, which is pretty neat, making for an original crochet pattern. This Irish Snowflake is one free Christmas crochet pattern you won't want to miss out on.

Snowflake Monday- Perfect for the winter months is this fun snowflake. It's a delicate pattern that can be made into a crochet Christmas ornament or even taped to a window.

Mug Inspired Flake- As its name states, this snowflake was inspired by a Christmas mug. It looks like two snowflakes in one which makes this an extra special crochet pattern.

Some other Snowflake Patterns:

  1. A Snowflake Pin
  2. Beaded Snowflake
  3. Crochet Snowflake
  4. Crochet Snowflake Afghan
  5. Crocheted Snowflake Potholder
