Kid's Earflap HatHats serve a variety of purposes. They keep your head and ears warm in the winter or cool in the summer, they cover up a bad hair day (or, let's face it guys, a no-hair day), and they add the perfect finishing touch to an outfit. Crochet hats can protect your hair, scalp, and ears from the sun's harmful rays and keep the light out of your eyes, too. Keep your baby's head warm in cool weather with a snug little cap. You can make any of these patterns because they are especially for beginners, who are new to crochet. Even if you are an experienced crocheter, these beginner hat patterns will be a snap to make for any occasion.

Crochet hats make great gifts, and with this guide you can learn how to make crochet hats for the whole family using these free crochet hat patterns.

Below, you'll find beginner crochet hat patterns for Mom, Dad, children, and babies in all styles: brim hats, earflap hats, sun hats and more. Get started today!

Beanies are my favorite to make and wear!

Love this website for free patterns. The funky hat for mom is super cute!

Love this site! Have made Mickey and Minnie beanies for all my grandkids 9, and beanies for all the new babies. Recently made a wide brim summer hat, for a hula demonstration where we had to wear hats. I have so many patterns saved, I just have to find time to make them all! Mahalo

My favorite hat is any hat I change them and adapt them for the person who will receive them. Beanies are the easiest usually.

Too many to pick just one!!! Love having all the patterns in one spot!!!

All Free Crochet is one of the best sites I've found!! Your site is easy to work with you have some great patterns for all of us to use. It allows me to be quite creative.

I have just recently started crochet and I have found your site invaluable, Thank you for the helpful patterns and how to's.

Love the website except for the ads that open over my sign in and my patterns put them off to the side or on the bottom of the page

    Looking for patterns

While this is not the easiest site to navigate, and the printing is a bit harsh, (simply fixed by viewing my document first, or just copy and pasteing the pattern I want) I do enjoy this site so far. Lot's of great crochet Ideas :) I'll be recommending this site to others to use :)

I have been looking for a plain, open front, sleeveless vest to make for my 9 yr. old granddaughter. I saw a crocheted one in yellow yarn but lost the pattern before I could print it out. I would prefer a pattern in knit but crochet would also work. Thanks for any help I can get.

I have been looking for a girls open front, sleeveless vest for some time. I saw one on this site made in a yellow yarn but lost the pattern before I could print it out. The vest is a nice addition to outfits and provides warmth in this colder weather. I'd appreciate any help I can get. Thank you in advance.

I just discovered this website. It looks wonderful, but- I just printed "Kirsten" the ear flap hat. It took FIVE pages to print. Yowser. Wish I didn't have to waste so much paper and ink. A lot of the stuff wasn't pattern, just pictures and comments.

You can go to print preview and select only the pages you want to print after you have downloaded.

i don't like not being able to leave a page before viewing all selections so you have lost me also how to get a pattern i want not to easy to figure out
