Snow Drift Crochet Hat

You'll be totally prepared for winter with the Snow Drift Crochet Hat. We named it that because if you got stuck in a snow drift, the little pom pom on top of the hat would stick out so you could be rescued! The ice blue color of the yarn is perfect for winter wear and it's quick to work up as well. Made out of chunky yarn, you know it'll keep your head nice and warm when you're building snowmen, snow forts, and having snowball fights.

How do I print the pattern without all the extra photos and comments and stuff other than the directions???

Hi Granny Sous, to print the pattern without the photos and other elements, you can copy the pattern text, then paste as plain text into a Word document. This will get rid of any images. We hope this helps! - Editors of AllFreeCrochet

This hat definitely looks like it will work up quickly, perhaps in just an hour or so! I do love the blue color, but if you are trying to be noticed in a snow drift, I would probably choose a bolder color! I like hats that are made with chunky yarn, because they work up more quickly than even a traditional hat. I have never seen a pom pom made by wrapping the yarn around your fingers, but I am eager to try this technique.

This snow drift crochet hat looks toasty. The hat does come a little down over the ears and that is always a plus. The hat was give that adorable little pom at the top for added attraction and this seagreen is oddly attractive to me. It is a beginner pattern so those of you interested in making a hat for this winter, this may be the pattern for you.

This hat was very easy to crochet. I made it in about an hour or so. I decided not to add the pompon. I'll definitely be making this again.

This is a wonderful project for a Beginner. It covers all the basics plus simple instructions for forming a pompon. Ive used this pattern in my crochet classes, but I dont recommend using this method to create a pompon. Its just too hard to get the tension around the knot just right, and then I have frustrated students. I usually let them use my Pom Maker set instead.

This looks like a pretty easy project to make. It is made with a bulky yarn so it wont take very long to finish this one. All of the stitches required to make this hat look pretty standard and would be easy for a beginner to make. The diagram on how to make even pompoms is very helpful. Love the pretty blue color of this yarn.

I loooove how this Snow Drift Crochet Hat fits the head of this model. It fits very cozily on the head providing the right cover and protection. The color is also perfect and so appropriately named.

I have never seen a blue snowdrift, but white would get dirty a lot faster and may be hard to keep clean if you wear a lot of makeup. I think a big pompom on top would make this so much cuter. This is such an easy hat to make. The directions are spot on and easy to follow.

This hat is so cute! I have got to make it

This snow drift hat would look much better if it was worked in solid white yarn to fit its name better. But thats just my opinion. White would also go with whatever color outfit you are wearing. On the down side, white would get dirty a lot faster and may be hard to keep clean if you wear a lot of makeup.

Don't you think this hat would be just darling in white? With a huge snowball pompom on top? This is one of the cutest crochet hat patterns I have seen in a long time.

I love crochet hat patterns and especially easy patters like this one which I can change to make it my own. I am going to use two different colors when I make this hat.

What an adorable, classically designed winter hat. The color choice reminds me of those soft butter mints that come in those pastel colors. I think you could whip this up in a short evening while you are watching tv! Make them in your sports team colors by doing the band at the bottom and the pompon to match, then make the body of the hat the main team color. As far as the ease of the pattern, it looks like half double crochets or singles.

My cousin is looking for a hat just like this, I'm totally going to make this for her! Love it!

That's awesome, MrsNesbitt, we hope that your cousin likes the hat. Please post a picture of the finished hat on this page if you can, we'd love to see what you make. - Editor of AllFreeCrochet

there was a video for this hat "Snowdrift". I had to figure out the gauge and when I was done, I could not find the video again. sigrid
