The little collar on this New Years Eve silver crochet shawl makes it a little different from a lot of shawls that I have seen. The button is a great detail also. A metallic cotton yarn was used in this pattern to give it the edge for evening wear. I would use a different color so that I could have the opportunity to wear it more often.

This would be not only the best type of shawl to wear for a special occasion like Christmas or New Years Eve, but why not add a little extra sparkle to your every day wear with a solid or print tunic? There are quite a few rows to follow along with, so it will keep you interested and busy!

Ok, this is gorgeous, it's easy and it doesn't take much yarn to make. So what's your excuse for not making it for yourself or as a gift? I live in Florida but in an area that gets chilly in winter so this will be just great for those evenings out.

I like the design of this shawl with the little collar. It adds a bit more warmth around the neck which I need on a chilly evening or even in the office with the different temperatures. The pattern looks straightforward so it should not take too long. Yarn with a bit of shimmer in it would look perfect. Thank you.

This beautiful shawl wouldn't look out of place anywhere! Useful, even at home, shawls, such as this one, are much less heavy and bulky than traditional blankets, but still manage to keep the chill away on cool evenings. Made in a shimmer or sparkly yarn, this shawl would look lovely draped over your shoulders while out for dinner with friends!
