I don't know when it happened but I have become the go to person if you want to learn how to crochet. I think I did it in self defense. People were always asking me to make them something.its the old" teach a man to fish theory! This is going to be my new example piece. It's so easy and anyone can do it. You can also make it alternating rows of double crochet from back to front loops.

This Beginner's Crochet Scarf is easy to make so if you wanna to start with your first project, you can go ahead and make this scarf. So lovely in light teal done in double, half and single crochet stitches. Enjoy crocheting!!

Thank you for this free pattern! Less really can be more and although I do enjoy to sometimes tackle a more complicated project this pattern is proof that the basics can be really lovely. My teenage daughter saw me looking at the pic and immediately asked me to make her one too so I let her choose her color from my yarn stash, then I gave her a crochet hook and she is now busy with her first ever crochet project, lol!

Where is the video tutorial by the designer mentioned in the description???

I'm sure you already found the video, but, I just saw your question and thought I would pass the link along to you.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFc8RzmJazw

How do you get to this pattern and get a copy of it? I've been trying for so long I'm aging.

Did you ever find the pattern, if you keep scrolling down the page it will be there, or there should be a "click here" area for the pattern

Keeps going to a stupid site, no pattern there please help

I want to try this pattern out. I am just learning to crochet and this scarf seems simple enough for me!

Jennifer, I hope you've been able to try this pattern since your post in December, I haven't tried this pattern yet but after looking at it looks super simple and you could customize it with stripes once you get good at changing colors. I practiced all the time when I first started by making scarves, I felt confident in making the flat and straight rows instead of worrying about curves in my patterns. Good luck!

Sorry, I figured it out.

I will try this pattern when I have more skeins of yarn

.....Oops, rather "each ch 1 sp across". Thanks.

I am a beginner and I don't understand round 2. Please assist me.

Can you please explain to me the second row with the 1 chain space? I am a little confused at this point. Thanks A beginner. :-)
