We have a "prayer shawl ministry" in which we crochet prayer shawls, have them blessed and give them to ladies that are shut-ins or nursing homes. Along with witnessing to these ladies. Since we are small church, we run out of money to purchase the yarn. It takes about 5 skeins to do a prayer shawl. We keep to reverent colors. I started to crochet by watching my grandmother, I am left handed. Everything she did, I copied....I crochet backwards according to my daughters. I am now 75 and still do it the same way.
