Several family members live in Arizona so I am pretty familiar with many of the Navajo motifs. While this pattern isnt exactly traditional, it does capture the flavor of the region. The browns, tans and white are reminiscent of the land, and the deep green looks like evergreen forest up near Flagstaff. Its worked as one giant square so no seaming individual blocks.

I have to admit I was a little confused by the title of the afghan, however after seeing the picture it makes much more sense. I like the fact that this afghan is done in the round as opposed to turning back and forth in rows like so many afghans made.

I just love in-the-round square Navajo Lap Blanket!...I think I'll make it for my grand daughter if she can teach me how to download to my computer....lol....great site!!!!
