Blankets for Deployed Daddies

This is an amazing charity that allows you to make blankets for those daddies who are deployed. Many fathers don't get to see their newborn until they're a bit older. This charity is heart-warming so make a free crochet pattern today.

I just finished my first blanket. Could you please send me the address I mail it to?

Hi! It looks like this specific charity may no longer be running, but I found a similar one called Soldiers' Angels. They have a blanket drive that is currently accepting donations: https://soldiersangels.org/angel-blog.html/2018/05/01/Send-Some-Warmth-To-Our-Military-and-Veterans/. Thank you for thinking of our vets and service members!

i find this offensive as a mother who serves in the forces and misses out on seeing my clidren grow up whenever i get deployed am offended that you would leave mothers out

I do not think anyone is leaving mothers out who are deployed. You give birth, so therefore see your baby. This appears to be for dads who do not get to see their newborns as they are deployed when the baby is born. Thank you for your service and it must be very difficult to serve and leave you little ones back home. May God bless you and keep you safe.

i agree, and was going to write a similar comment about this, but i thought about it, and it is probably understood that women are included, but i do think it should say 'parents' instead. maybe they said 'daddies' for alliteration? but yes, i agree! maybe they can change this title sometime to make it broader and include every parent who serves.

I am so glad to finally see a crochet pattern for this blanket!!!!

This is a great project. thanks to all those that participate in this project. One way we can support our troops. - former Marine
