Homemade gifts really speak a thousand words and help save you money. Although we make gifts for our friends and family, let's not forget about one of the most important influences in your children's lives; teachers! If you need some crochet patterns to inspire you, here's our round-up of crochet teacher gifts.

Whether you're just learning to crochet or you've been doing so for years, you can find cute gift ideas for teachers they'll love. The best part about getting creative instead of buying something is they can be more personal. For example, choose their favorite colors to make something like a crochet scarf pattern. Maybe you know a teacher who loves to crochet herself and you can give her free crochet basket patterns with a few skeins of yarn; it would be so cute! Although you can start crafting for Christmas early in the year, let's dive into some quick easy crochet ideas for teachers before it's too late!

Buying something for friends and family is great, but making something is even better and it doesn't have to be costly. If you don't have time to make these crochet Christmas gifts for teachers this year you can always save the idea and make it at the end of the school year to say thank you.

I make dishcloths for my son's public school teachers. He had the same German teacher for 3 years and asked me to make her a set in the colors of the German flag, his last year with her. It was the least I could do. She was his best teacher in all of his high school years. She was really seemed touched.

Public school teachers make more out-of-pocket purchases than most people will ever know. I give my children's teachers classroom supplies for Christmas.

I worked in a public school for 23 years. I do understand "pld" s comment. Not all students, nor their parents, can afford to give gifts to teachers at Christmas. However, making gifts is less expensive and more thoughtful than a purchased present. We don't expect gifts for Christmas; they are a bonus. A homemade present from the heart means the most!

I don't understand the point of the other comment. What a waste of time.

I went to an elementary school that served an orphanage. We were asked not to give our teachers gifts as our orphan classmates could not join in. I thought that was very considerate. (If I had gotten gifts as a city planner, I would have been fired.) A nice thank you is much appreciated by anyone who works for the public.
