How to Color Change without Knots

Making beautiful crochet patterns is in your blood, if you love doing it then you'll love all the patterns we have for you. Being a crocheter, whether you're a beginner or more advanced takes talent. There's something special about those who have such a talent. Not only does it take patience, but you also need time.

There are plenty of free crochet patterns out there that can be put together in no time, while others can take days. Best of all about these crochet patterns is you can change colors depending on what you're making. If you're making a free crochet afghan pattern you might want it to be multi colored for a more fun look. Or maybe you're making a sweater that has two different complimentary colors. If you're unsure of how to change colors here you can learn how to change colors without the knots. Included is a video.

Changing yarn colors in crochet patterns is easier than you might think. The technique used is the same for any kind of pattern whether it's double, treble or a double treble stitch. When you're ready to change colors all you have to do is pull up the first loop for a single crochet in the old color, then pull the new color through the last two loops to complete that single crochet, it's that easy.

Here you can watch a video on how to color change without knots:

Some fun free crochet patterns that might call for color change are:

Bright Falling Leaves Afghan- A free crochet afghan pattern like this one is exquisite. Not only is there beautiful detail, but it allows you to use multiple colors. It's an intermediate pattern that would look great in any room, especially sprawled out on your bed.

Presents Crochet Pillows- You will just love these pillows the second you see them. You can present them around the holidays for all your guests to see. Put them under the tree and see if anyone notices they're not real.

His and Hers Outdoor Sweaters- If you don't want to use a multi colored skein of yarn you can change your colors and still get the same look. This pattern is fun as you and your spouse can wear similar sweaters, it makes for a great Christmas card picture.

Baltic Scarf- The colors of this free crochet scarf pattern are brilliant. They are bright and will make you feel warm and cozy. You can always choose your own colors too if you wanted. It's an easy crochet pattern that's calling your name.

Keep in mind you can take any crochet pattern and make it your own. Just because the pattern only calls for one color doesn't mean you can't use two or three different colors.

I have been crocheting since I was a kid. I wish I had known this method 50 years ago!! It's so much neater and easier than making numerous knots and still worrying that it's going to unravel. Thanks so much!!!
