"I’m happy to share a new free crochet shawl pattern: the Ana Lucia Shawl. I created an elegant shawl with some beautiful details. With yarn that was left I created matching tassels. We tried to make the pattern as simple as possible, taking beginners into account while designing. I came up with a shawl that is made out of double crochet stitches and variations of this stitch, like back post, front post, worked in back loops only. For the beautiful details you only have to repeat 5 rows. That's all!"

What a pretty shawl. I love the fact that it has just a touch of glitter that will sparkle when you are outside in the sunshine. The stitching is so dainty which makes this piece so feminine looking. I also love the color of yarn chosen for this project. I would love to have the time to make one of these for myself.

The color of this Ana Lucia Shawl is very pretty. It is amazing that you can create something this beautiful with a cake of yarn. This design is repeated with only five rows. I just love it. I especially love the tassels on the three corners. Thanks for sharing the free pattern.

very pretty, I will crochet this beautiful shawl.

This is gorgeous. Both the stitch and the color. It's very easy and I want to hake it. In a few years I fear crochet will be a forgotten art. Today's generation wants instant gratification and can't take the time to make this. That's why easy projects like this I encourage my grand daughter to try.

I like the designs presented by Wilma Westenberg. I have actually gone to her site and looked at all of the free patterns. From the patterns there, one is just as beautiful as the next. The patterns made for her extended family yields such a beautiful sentiment. Thanks so much for sharing the stories as wells as the patterns.

Beautiful shawl!! I purchased the pattern and am wondering if you have a charted version of this pattern.

Wow what a special lady this creator is! I love her story and her talante in crocheting is amazing. This Ana Lucia Shawl is one I will wear with pride! After reading the written pattern I know this will come out nicely and for the ones who needs help there is a great video showing just how to make this shawl step by step. With her video anyone can make this beautiful shawl. It will make a great gift and great to wear! Looking so forward to making this. I do have a question though? What yarn did she use? I think I missed that.. Thank you for sharing this free crochet shawl pattern.

This shawl is just fantastic! I love how the variety of stitches work together to create that amazing texture, and those tassels! They really do add the finishing touch. I appreciate the instructional video, the step by step photos, but most of all that handy chart that shows you EXACTLY which rows are repeated and the number of stitches in each. I rely on that information more than you know. Thank you for finding this amazing designer.

I just love her personal stories of inspiration. The art of crochet is very personal. It is an art that you put your heart and soul into, and give it with love! I am gushing over this pink gradient colorway, too. That type of yarn cake takes away all the guess work on what colors go good together.
