This is an absolutely adorable cocoon for a baby. How cute would the newborn photos be in a seaside decorated nursery? This will make a nice snuggled in blanket when presenting the new little one to relatives and friends . There are so many beautiful and soft yarn products out there to make personal favorite colors for a grandchild or your own child. This is one of the cutest mermaid blanket projects I've seen.

This is the most adorable baby pattern that I have seen in a long time. The ruffles around the top snuggle baby and the tail, just too much. I wish I had a baby to crochet this for.

Such a sweet picture. I have a pattern for a mermaid cocoon for older kids that someone sent me because they want me to make three for them for Christmas gifts. This tiny little cocoon will be a great add on to that order because they will be having a new baby sister before Christmas.

Absolutely precious and so very beautiful, this mermaid baby cocoon is! I agree with the designer. The Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable yarn is one of my favorite lighter weight yarn to work with. It lends such a beautiful drape to your apparel items. Cowl necks are especially pleasing! So, why wouldn't a baby enjoy having this super soft yarn up against its skin? I for one, still need lots of help and practice making the crocodile tears. It's kinda tough for me!

At some point this year, I will have to make this pattern. I have a o lot of baby yarn. I like to use up most of my baby yarn before I buy more since I normally buy multiple baby yarns once a year.

A mermaid crochet cocoon and tail for a tiny baby! After reading through the instructions, the crochet project seems very doable and not so difficult. I love the look of the tail fin as it has 3-D effect. The ruffles at the top of the cocoon seem to be somewhat of a challenge but they are oh so adorable.

I struggle a little with the tail, otherwise thoroughly enjoyed making this pattern. The baby's Mama was very happy.

How cute is this Mystic Mermaid Cocoon for baby? After reading over the written instructions I understand why the skill level is intermediate. All of the stitches are basic so I will not be intimidated. This will definitely be the center of attention at the next baby shower I attend.

I've produced one mermaid cocoon and my granddaughter loves it. I need to redo it though because I need to fix the measurements. This Mystic Mermaid Cocoon looks very neatly done and the baby just fits to a tee. The ruffles on the edge of the cocoon provides the drama giving this mermaid cocoon an elegant an formal look.

What did you do to increase the size for an older granddaughter. Mine is 3 years old

I have been wanting to try one of these baby mermaid cocoons, but there isn't very many free patterns for them. I may have to try this one out. Has anyone else tried this pattern? If so, is it a pretty quick one?

I've got this pattern saved in my collection! I've seen so many patterns for adult sized mermaid blankets, but I haven't seen many patterns for infants. This is a fairly easy pattern, too. Could you imagine all the oohs and ahhs you would receive if you gave this as a gift at a baby shower? No doubt it would end up as a treasured heirloom!
