Grayscale Beginner Crochet Dishcloth

Dishcloths are one of the kitchen's most versatile and useful items. Whether you need to wipe up a quick spill, scrub dishes, or even grab a hot pan from the stove, this grayscale beginner's crochet dishcloth will have you covered. The black, gray, and white color tones perfectly compliment the steel appliances of a kitchen. Even better, the crochet pattern teaches you how to crochet single and triple stitches, so it's a great first project for a newbie, or a quick and easy refresher for the pros.

I am working on a similar dish cloth pattern right now, and I love how it is turning out! I am using just yellow, but I think I could get behind the variegated color used here. I will have to try this pattern when I am done with the one I am working on right now.

I have a number of dishcloth projects that I assign to my students and this is one of the earliest. Once theyve mastered working a chain and figuring out how to manage the tension, theyre ready for something real. These dishcloths are perfect because theyre essentially swatches of sample stitches, so they get plenty of practice! And they get to take home something thats actually useful.

I too, love the colorway used for this crochet dishcloth! It's probably the color I would pick when I make my own. Oh! You can make 3 dishcloths using just one ball of Lily Sugar N' Cream cotton yarn. This is a super budget friendly project! In addition, the alternating rows of single crochets and triple crochets make it full of texture and interest.
