The color pooling technique certainly creates something beautiful for the eye to behold. I am still relatively new to the crochet scene and I do not have the courage to begin a project like this. I have saved the link so that when I feel the urge to really be challenged.

This is the first pattern that I have come across that shows the technique color pooling. It is a very interesting concept. As much as I love to learn new techniques, I am very intimidated because I have very bad tension skills. However, I will be on the scout for more patterns.

Never have I ever done color pooling so far. But this might be the pattern that actually motivates me to do so. But then again after reading over the directions I see that this is a very difficult pattern. Im thinking this one is above my pay grade. It is beautiful and the designer did an outstanding job.

Have you tried my video? Maybe that can help you over any bumps you May encounter with Color pooling. I would hate for you to give up before having tried all your options

I love the look of this Ice Waves Argyle Crochet Blanket. I have never heard of color pooling until now and I'm so confused.. I need to watch the video a few times and try as I watch it. I think this pattern puts a new spin into crocheting. This old lady can learn new things, and this is great!! I saved this pattern and will be looking for the yarn. the link to buy the yarn on the pattern page is not for USA, so I'm not sure what kind to buy? I see that it's a super fine, but can I get it locally? I'll be coming back to see if anyone answers. I so want to make this.. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.

The yarn is a sock yarn, and yes it is on the thin side, but because it contains so much wool it is very warm. The yarn is/was available from Wool Warehouse. They ship internationally and quickly. I know many happy Woolwarehouse customers in the US.

This Ice Waves blanket has an absolutely gorgeous color combination, exactly right for our young sons room and I know he is going to be so thrilled! I always feel that crocheted blankets and throws are so much cozier than anything else and with winter approaching the more coziness the better, lol. Scheepjes yarns are not available in South Africa but are can probably be ordered online or else I am going to have to source similar color yarns locally.

Be Inspired stock some scheepjes yarns. I believe they are the only stockist in South Africa
