Thanks for the video on how to crochet this new to me stitch, the glover stitch. Even if I do not plan on making the project, I am a sucker for the videos. I learn to learn from other crocheters and I learned something while watching this one. I have no need for a baby blanket but I could see me making this into a pillow. It is easy and quick and the pillow will be a great addition to my home decor.

The glover stitch used with the baby blanket has a lot of texture. It is complicated on explaining exactly what it looks like. You can see the texture in the solid color and in the ombre shade but stands out more when in a solid color. I love this stitch and I want to try a sample swatch.

I clicked on the link for the free pattern for the Glover Stitch Afghan, but the website is no longer online.

Hi bellabimb, The link "Click here for free crochet pattern" takes you directly to the blogger's website and the pattern - I just verified that it works, perhaps try again? Thanks! Julia, editor for AllFreeCrochet

I love the stitch used for this blanket, I've never used this stitch before but love that it's an easy pattern and this blanket would be great for any baby or child! Can't wait to customize for several people as Christmas gifts!

Wow did I read that right? 1 skein per strip, and this only takes 6 skeins of yarn? I'm not sure that is right when in the pattern she does the first row then 7 rows in a different color. I am not understanding this at all. With that being said, I do like the look of the Glover Stitch Baby Blanket. This is a nice looking cluster stitch that I think would be interesting to make. I'm thinking of using a different type of yarn for my baby blanket. I have a hard time with the thicker yarns, my hands just can't handle the weight of them. Thank you so much for this free crochet pattern, it has me wondering for sure..

This is a super bulky yarn and yes, each strip uses one skein. There are six strips and this project requires six skeins. I think maybe you are confused with the words strip and row? Each skein makes one strip and each strip is made up of seven rows. Hope that helps.

I made this blanket for my cousin. It was so easy and turned out beautifully. Thanks for sharing -)
