From the blogger: "This sunflower amigurumi is the perfect thing for spring and summer! Great for decoration or a fun gift, these flowers are super quick and easy to make. For this flower, I used a 3.0mm crochet hook and size 4 worsted weight yarn. Feel free to use any size of yarn or hook wanted for a personalized product! For further customization, you could try different colors for a different type of flower. There are so many possibilities!"

Crochet HookD/3 or 3.25 mm hook

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Finished Size6 in (15 cm)

Materials List

  • Size 4 Mocha Brown Yarn
  • Size 4 Butter Yellow Yarn
  • Green Floral Wire
  • Fiberfill Stuffing

Instructions:

Brown Center

  1. With mocha yarn
    Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)

  2. Rnd 2: 6 inc (12)

  3. Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 inc) x6 (18)

  4. Rnd 4: Sc around

  5. Rnd 5 BLO: Sc around (18)

  6. Rnd 6 BLO: (1 sc, 1 dec) x6 (12)

  7. Rnd 7: 6 dec (6)

  8. Stuff, fasten off, and weave in all ends

Flower Petals

  1. With butter yarn
    Starting in back loops of round 5 until end of back loops in round 6.

  2. Rnds 1-2: (1 sl st, ch 1, 1 dc, 1 tc, ch 2, in second chain 1 sl st) in first back loop. (1 tc, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 sl st) in next back loop. Repeat until end of round (9 petals)

  3. Fasten off and weave in all ends
