Mosaic Brick Square

"Do you ever get bored making a whole afghan from one stitch? Sometimes it’s nice to work on a easy project while watching TV or chatting with friends. But other times, you want to try something new. That’s why sampler blankets are so much fun. Each of the individual squares is a different pattern so they are a great way to try out different techniques. The special thing about this particular sampler afghan is that it’s made up of a variety of patterns, each one designed by a different talented crochet designer. Even better, it’s a crochet along (or CAL). My Brick Mosaic Granny Square is the 19th one for 2025. Here you will find the free pattern as well as a companion video tutorial for you to help you complete the pattern. This block uses the overlay mosaic crochet technique. This is a colorwork technique that creates what looks like intricate designs without having to change colors within a row. But actually, overlay crochet is doable for any skill level, even beginners, as it uses just basic single and double crochet stitches."
