The popcorn stitch is perfect for adding texture and personality to your scarf. This Bumpy Popcorn scarf looks elegant however I'd like it to be wider and longer, oversized if possible.

The popcorn stitch is a funky way to jazz up any scarf ! I used a beautiful teal yarn, felt that it is wintery. Also added 24 more chains and 7 more rows to the original pattern just to bulk things up a bit I also used a 5mm hook instead of the 4mm to give it more flexibility. Great idea for a gift, donation, or if you just want to add another scarf to your collection.

I cant see the video and it says does not exist. Please sent me the video please. Tq

Clicked on the video to see how to make the popcorn and it says "this video does not exist". How helpful. :(

Could not print the pattern. Text seemed to overlap. I don't need the tutorial. I just need the printed pattern. Can someone rectify this?

Copy & paste it, then email it to yourself so you can then print it out that way.

thank u for the chat on the popcorn stitch. It is well written, can I make an afghan using the same pattern only extend the stitches. I need to make it long enough for a single bed? Thank u for sharing the popcorn stitch linda simpson on facebook and email: Richard.simpson695@comcast.net do u suggest red heart soft yarn; have not crochet in some time?

I love the popcorn stitch....it gives anything you make such a unique look...but I actually made this scarf in the exact color shown...it is really gorgeous....and will be a Christmas present for sure.....

I love your Popcorn Scarf. I found it after Christmas, but will put it in for 2013. Thank you. Hope you had a Great Christmas and Happy New Year. God's Blessings to you and yours.

This pattern is beautiful. I cannot wait to make it thank you for sharing it with us. I am making my Christmas gifts this year and thought this and a popcorn stitch hat would go with it. Do you know where I can get a free popcorn stitch hat pattern?

this pattern is the type of thing i'm looking for. crocheting for the 'at risk population' in Vancouver... giving to Warmth For All. may i share this pattern with others that volunteer for this charity?

Such a beautiful scarf!! I'm 20, and I just started crocheting about a month ago. I'm addicted!! This year for Christmas, I'm making scarf, mitten, and hat sets for my family. I love this pattern and I'm thinking I may use it for a couple of the scarves I make this season. I was just wondering, about how long is the scarf once it is finished? Thanks for the lovely pattern!

@dulcie 1915996: Hi Dulcie, this means to make 242 crochet chains to start the scarf. The portion in parentheses, (multiple of 6 plus 2) is a bit of information that gives you some insight into the design so that you can alter it a bit if you like. The designer is telling you how she calculated the number of chains. So if you would like to make the scarf wider or skinnier, you may choose a number other than 242 to start the scarf, as long as it is a multiple of 6 plus 2 extra stitches. For example, you could make this scarf 182 stitches wide because it is a multiple of 6 plus 2 extra stitches. If you would like to make the scarf exactly as the designer intended, you can simply ignore this portion and chain 242. Hope this helps! -- Editors of AllFreeCrochet

I have one question regarding the pattern for thePopcorn Stitch Scarf, What do you mean when you say Chain 242 (Multiple of 6, plus 2) would appreciate an answer.Thank you Dulcie Neary
