Faux Crochet Outdoor Boots

"These Faux Crochet Outdoor Boots can be made by ANYONE - even if you DONT know how to crochet! The only crochet technique used is the Chain stitch, which is the most basic stitch & I even added a video on how to make a chain stitch."

Crochet GaugeGauge is not important. Just make sure your chains are on the tighter side, rather than loose.

I have about six different relatives who I am sending this link to immediately! While this is technically a crochet project, its really more of a craft. The designer includes several photos illustrating how she places the crocheted chains on the shoe and gives recommendations about what time of glue to use. This is a really clever way to give some old boots new life!

Yes I did this but to a old pair of shoes.. I hope the picture shows.. This took a while but I wasn't feel well and needed something to do and worked the chains in blue jean blue. Love the way my shoes turned out. Hubby said they will make a great outdoor plant holder.. LOL mycrochetshoes.jpg

another try to get the picture on here.

Fifty years, yes, I have been crocheting for fifty years and never saw a project like this one. It's wild, to say the least. I love unique things to make so you know I am going to try this. The directions are clear, I have old boots, there is nothing to stop me!

This is a really cool idea. I never would have thought of up cycling a pair of boots in this fashion. The colors are really funky here and I think that may be a little over the top for me. I am thinking more of a subtle design that I can apply to an old pair of boots that can be worn with my blue jeans when I walk the dogs. This is a neat idea.

Oh wow lol those look awesome. Almost look like the real thing. Oh, wait. They actually are the real thing but only covered with crochet. At first I thought the pattern was to make an actual pair of boots that would have a soft sole and could be worn inside as if they were bedroom or house slippers. Fooled me. LOL

I really should have paid attention to that one word in the title - Faux. I really like this idea. However, frugal me I would use this idea to update/recycle a pair of boots. I really have to dig in my closet for those old winter boots and get ready for the coming winter.

This is one of the most original ideas I have ever seen. You don't even have to know how to do anything but a chain stitch. A kid could do that. The end result is nothing short of spectacular! I am blown away with the look of these "Faux Crochet" outdoor boots. It's a great project to revive those stanky old boots in your closet -) I like the fact that the designer provided lots of pictures.

I had to do a double-take on this one--it looks incredible! I'm already thinking of all the ways to personalize it.

What a great idea this Faux Crochet Outdoor Boots pattern is. I have a few old pairs of boots and shoes that I can do this with. I was going to ask where to buy the glue, but seen the answer in small print, so I need to go to Walmart and hope they are still selling the glue. Thank you so much for this great free craft project.

Fantastic! I've often lamented how hard it is to find crocheted shoes. Maybe I'll sneak a little granny square onto the side...?

This is such a cool idea! I have never seen anything like this; it truly is a great way to express yourself.

This is so cool!!!
