Oh I love this cute little symbol of good luck! Lady bugs are welcome in my garden anytime because they are predators of destructive insects like aphids! Because this is a smaller, simpler project it would be perfect to teach someone, child or adult, to crochet. It also takes a small amount of basic colors that I might already have in my stash so that makes it a potential stash buster! It's also a good project to practice or teach the foundational single crochet row and even work in some surface crochet too!

This is the cutest thing ever. I love lady bugs and this will be added to my collection. I want to make a complete ser since they are so easy and take so little yarn. They may end up in my Christmas box in the closet also. Thank you for sharing this.

I keep a huge garden, so Im always happy when I see ladybugs. This cute coaster really captures the spirit of Summer for me. This is a great Beginner pattern, too, because the only tricky part is the small bit of Surface Crochet. Since the designer uses Puffy Paint for the eyes and spots, you could also use it for the stripe that makes the wings.
