This is a cute idea for an afghan, but be advised that the actual pattern is not at the above link. The designer does provide links to the individual blocks and appliqus, so theres a bit of chasing down before you get all the information you need. This entry just tells you how many of each square and motif youll need for the complete afghan.

Granny squares are awesome if you did not know. This creative designer just made up some colorful squares and applied appliques to it. This southwestern flair is really cute and I agree, changing up the pink squares for blue squares is an awesome idea!

I can not get enough of granny squares. Weather they are sewn together for a pillow, baby blanket, lapgan or a full out bedspread they are just such wonderful little squares of happiness to me. I have a stash of granny square patterns already and I will keep adding to it. Thanks for this wonderful little creation.

How much home decor items can YOU make using this theme and this motif?! Create toss pillows, coasters, an accent rug! How cool would that be? I would add fringe on that for sure. The Loops Threads Impeccable yarn is great to work with. It is soft and stretchy and very vibrant. Great yarn choice.
