  • Size U.S. S [19 mm] crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.
  • Fiberfill stuffing

Ch = Chain(s)
Rep = Repeat
Rnd(s) = Round(s)
Sc = Single crochet
Sc2tog = Draw up a loop in each of next 2 sc. Yoh and draw through all 3 loops on hook
Sl st = Slip stitch
Sp = Space
St(s) = Stitch(es)
Yoh = Yarn over hook
Splsc = Split single crochet: work sc between ‘legs’ at front and back of stitch (splitting stitch) instead of through top loops.

Pattern

Note: Join all rnds with sl st to first st.

With A, ch 2 loosely

  1. 1st rnd: 7 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join. 7 sc.

  2. 2nd rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in each sc around. Join. 14 sc.

  3. 3rd rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in same sp as sl st. 1 sc in next sc. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * around. Join. 21 sc.

  4. 4th rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in same sp as sl st. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Rep from * around. Join. 28 sc.

  5. 5th rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in same sp as sl st. 1 sc in each of next 3 sc. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 3 sc. Rep from * around. Join. 35 sc.

  6. 6th rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in same sp as sl st. 1 sc in each of next 4 sc. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 4 sc. Rep from * around. Join. 42 sc. PM at end of rnd.

  7. Sides of bed: 7th rnd: With A, 1 splsc in first sc. *With B, 1 splsc in next sc. With A, 1 splsc in next sc. Rep from * to last sc. With B, 1 splsc in last sc. Join

  8. 8th rnd: With B, 1 splsc in first sc. *With A, 1 splsc in next sc. With B, 1 splsc in next sc. Rep from * to last sc. With A, 1 splsc in last sc. Join.

    Rep last 2 rnds, alternating A and B until work from marked rnd measures 6" [15 cm]. Break A.

  9. Next rnd: With B, ch 1. *Sc2tog. 1 sc in each of next 4 sc. Rep from * around. Join. 35 sts.

  10. Next rnd: Ch 1. *Sc2tog. 1 sc in each of next 3 sc. Rep from * around. Join. 28 sts.

  11. Next rnd: Ch 1. *Sc2tog. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Rep from * around. Join. 21 sts. Lightly stuff with fiberfill.

  12. Next rnd: Ch 1. *Sc2tog. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * around. Join. 14 sts.

  13. Next rnd: (Sc2tog) 7 times. Join. Fasten off. Push one half into another to create basket shape as shown in picture.
