Intermeshing Crochet Basics

"Intermeshing crochet is a technique of working 2 layers of crocheted mesh together. It creates a thick, squishy fabric with fun, geometric designs. Learn the basics in this photo and video tutorial. The tutorial shows 2 different ways of starting your work. The most common way, starting with 2 separate layers of mesh, and an alternate way starting from a single crochet edging. The pattern for the Jazzberry baby blanket shown in the tutorial will be released as a crochet-along, starting on 8/28/18."

I will find something new from time to time and just jump head first into it. With this, it does not look like a easy jump right in. I know I will have to study this and take my time but I am so excited about learning this technique. I wonder if the back of the work is as pretty as the front? Or will you be able to tell?

Pretty, pretty. I can only imagine that this is a very heavy item as it is practically double crocheted. I love the way this looks with the duel colors. As soon as I can get my laptop set up and get comfortable on the easy chair my plans are to attempt to create this technique.

If you are even THINKING about working on this technique, watch the video!!! I have to agree with the designer that the first methodmesh over meshseems a lot harder to grasp than the second. The second reminds me of working a Spike Stitch, only youre alternating Front and Back kinda sorta Posts. This is magnificent, but something Im probably going to hold for the middle of winter when my life seems to slow down a bit.

I think this is pretty cool! Never before seen by me. First time learning of this thing called intermeshing crochet. In my opinion, it is easier than I thought it would be, judging by the instructions...which she has done a great job at putting together by the way! You might want to give this a try for your next afghan for that little something extra special.
