This challenge was for creating a fun and cute applique for kids and everyone really so I decided on a cute Avocado applique and a monkey applique. In the process of designing this cutie pie, Milowe the Monkey, I even thought of making him a robot but I didn’t like the idea too much so I finally settled on a simple face using the basics of Tunisian crochet and traditional crochet! This is the perfect hybrid pattern to start off with if you’re just wanting to learn the basics of Tunisian crochet. You can just sub in a straight crochet hook in size J 6.0 mm instead of the Tunisian crochet hook listed in the pattern and you do not need any other special hooks or tools!
