This is a wonderful project for old timers or beginners. It's very basic and you can have fun with it. With bulky yarn and bigger hook it will make up in no time at all. The thicker yarn will make for a soft play area of you decide to put the baby in the floor on it.

Ok I am brand new to crocheting and a little confused. so chain 50. Got that. I'm a little confused on row 2 . I don't understand 1 sc in next ch-1 sp can someone help?

I have made this blanket in many different sizes. Here's a good tutorial that explains the 1SC in the next Ch-1 space. https//www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6CdTtGDRFot=351s My kids love this blanket!

I always enjoy looking and touching all of the blanket yarns when I go shopping. They are just so soft, the colors are awesome, and they are perfect for a blanket. I have never bought any and I have never worked with any because it is a little too pricey for my empty wallet. Love this little blanket. So cute.

I just found out that one of my nieces is expecting her first child, and shes very excited to make some things for her little one. Her mom (my sister) called me for some easy crochet patterns and this one will be perfect. Well be visiting them over the holidays, so Im going to surprise Hannah with a set of hooks, white blanket yarn, and these instructions. Shes not due until June so she still has plenty of time to learn.

Baby blankets are always my first choice for a baby shower gift. This one would work perfectly for that since it is such an easy blanket to make. Looks like this blanket would not be too time consuming and a quick gift to make if you needed one at the last minute. I like to keep extras on hand as you just never know when you might need a last minute gift.

When I see the words easiest, I must admit I take a look at the pattern. I have been crocheting for a while and I do not need to select easy patterns, it is just fun sometimes to start something a go ahead and get it done. There is nothing like displaying a finished project.

Let's go and make this super bulky, super chunky baby blanket. This Easiest Baby Blanket Pattern Ever looks like it's true to its label because the pattern look very easy to make. Beginners will really love to start with this project. This baby blanket will make perfect baby shower and christening gift. The mom will thank you for it. Cheers!

What a great project. I read thru the instructions and it's easy enough. And it doesn't take much yarn, but best of all. It makes up quickly. I can make one in no time at all. The hardest part will be picking out the color of yarn I want to use. Thank you!

I also agree this is a pattern for beginners and those of us who have been crocheting for some time. This pattern could easily be made using different types of stitches. A border would really make this blanket more special.

I agree that this is an extremely easy pattern for beginners. It does not mean that those us who have more experience wound not enjoy the pattern also! It looks very easy to complete and quite quickly too! Plus, you could use almost any variegated baby color to make things more personalized!

Easy peasy for this Easiest Baby Blanket Pattern Ever. I think the fact that the designer selected super bulky/super chunky yarn and crochet hook N/15 helped to make this work up pretty quick. Needing to know only one stitch didn't hurt much either. The blanket looks so soft to the touch.

The easiest Baby Blanket Pattern is great you all the beginner crocheter out there. The pattern is very simple to read and directions are very good. This could be done within a week of working on it a couple of hours a day. Fun and Easy pattern. Give it a try.

What a great first-time crochet project for a new mom. I don't think it can get any easier than this, except for just straight single crochets...but then you wouldn't have the texture and the interest that this pattern has. It really very impressive for such a simple project, even save this and keep it for a family heirloom.

I'm making this blanker right now in pink, purple, and white for my niece. I'm not sure if the yarn has changed or if I did something incorrect, but 50 chain stitches wasn't enough. I went up to 65, and now I wish I had added a few more. It's much tinier than the photo shows. That being said, this is a super easy pattern! I highly recommend beginners give it a shot.

I am not the most skilled at crocheting, but this pattern is beautiful. It really looks like something that I could make. I tend to have issues making things come out straight, except when I make hats, which aren't straight anyway. What I really love most is that it is a beginner pattern, but it absolutely does not look like a beginner pattern. I tend to think of beginner patterns as blah. Thanks for this....I am definitely making this one!

Such a simple pattern to make such a sweet blanket! I'm thinking of doing shell stitch around the edges as a border.

This design is the coolest thing I've ever seen (not including the background in the example picture.)

I have done 5 blankets using Bernat Baby Blanket, in Double Crochet with 2 balls. I am currently using Bernat Baby Sport, in Double Crochet as well. I am planning on doing a blanket in single crochet as well.

This is a great pattern! I have made 5 of them for showers, adding scalloped borders. Can't believe how easy for me as a beginner, yet everyone raves about the blankets and would like one for someone they know. Great great pattern, thanks!!

I love the simplicity and ease of these types of pattern using mostly a single crochet stitch and very uniquely done up but very pretty edging. These types of pattern have got to be my favorite kinds to work up. I have done a number of things with this stitching before, but not yet a baby blanket. I can't wait to do a couple of these over the weekend for my niece!

Tried this craft? What did you think?

This really is a lovely, yet simple pattern. It took less than one skein of Caron One Pound baby yarn, even with a girly ruffle edging added. I love the way it drapes. I got so many compliments on it as I worked on it - I kept insisting it was the easiest pattern ever - but no one believed me, because it made such a lovely stitch.

I love your blanket. You didn't use the bulky yarn, did you? This looks like worsted weight. Did you use multiple strands or just made enough stitches and rows to get the size you wanted? What size hook did you use? What did you do to make the ruffle around the edge?

I agree that this is much simpler pattern. I could not even understand the instruction on the pattern above but this peach one is so simple I learned it when I was only 8 years old. It was the first thing I ever crocheted in my life.

This is a fantastic pattern. I used Bernat Baby in Sandcastle and a size Q/16 hook for a slightly larger stitch. It turned out fabulous! Thank you for sharing!
