Spring Chick Applique Pattern
Using some fun spring crochet patterns you can make these spring chick appliques. Add them to a hat, a bag or anything you want. Free crochet patterns are fabulous when you can have fun with them.
Crochet HookH/8 or 5 mm hook
Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

These little appliqus arent quite shaped like a baby chick, but they are close enough to get the general idea. I would work up some small teardrop shaped wings to layer over the initial circle. That would both hide the stitches and give the appliqu some additional depth. You could also work out how to work the stitches in the opposite direction so they would be reversible.

Alright...enough with the Bunnies for Easter. This Spring Chick Applique Pattern is perfect as a little accent. I'm going to make my little niece a crocheted purse for Easter, and these little chick appliques will look perfect on the bag, and give it a "Spring" look to use all season..

Nice pattern! Below are some stitch abbreviations tr = treble crochet dtr = double treble, yo 3 times, insert hook into st, pull up loop, yo pull through 2 loop 4 times trtr = treble treble, yo 4 times, insert hook into st, pull up loop, yo pull through 2 loops 5 times
