I love the look of this block party baby blanket. It does remind me of the basket weave, but you can also see the differences in the stitch. This would be a great gift for anyone, not just a new baby. If you make it bigger, it could be a great gift for the older sibling or a friend.

Love the look of this Block Party Baby Blanket. This is a new twist that looks like the basket weave patterns. I like that there are some good pictures to show you how it should look as you go and the written directions are well done. I'm looking forward to trying this one. Now to figure out what colors to use? Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet baby blanket pattern.

This is such a pretty project, and I wouldnt limit it to just babies! That color combination is perfect for girls, and I can easily see a set of blues for boys. I also think rainbow colors would be fantastic, too. The designer gives easy to follow directions along with excellent photos. This repetitive pattern is a snap to work up, and instructions on how to vary the size is included as well.

Can I use 1 color only to do this pattern?

You can definitely make this blanket in one color! The different staggered stitches wouldn't be as pronounced, but that's the only thing that will change.

this is a neat and easy crochet pattern doing mine for double bed size
