Fingerless Winter Gloves
This is a fun free crochet pattern. I love the light and fluffy yarn used to make these fingerless gloves. They'll keep your hands warm and allow you to use your fingers at the same time.
Crochet HookN/15 or 10 mm hook
Yarn Weight(6) Super Bulky/Super Chunky (4-11 stitches for 4 inches)

I have made a ton of these! From teenagers who love texting to farmers working in the milking parlors! They are wonderful and a huge welcome to all those who've received them. I would much rather have something handmade with love than anything store bought! Thank you for sharing this wonderful pattern!

these are great for me and my friends who work at the pa ren faire and can not wear normal gloves on the colder days

No question is dumb or stupid..that's how we learn. Fingerless gloves are good for cell phone use, texting, a better grip on steering wheel of car, etc. etc. You can always pull your fingers back into glove as needed. Like this pattern for Homespun yarn..have some already...yea! Thanks, AFC..love your site!

This types of gloves have been used by toll collectors and other people who handle money for many years. The last few years they are starting to catch on with preteens and teens. I believe some girls in theTwilightVampire movies wore them. My little granddaughter wants them, do you remember how elegant opera gloves and prom gloves of olden days were, I expect not. Nice to see things come back.

Re Marybr's comment - what's the use of fingerless gloves I am glad she can afford warm leather gloves and that she doesn't have to work with her fingers during winter However I do And I started learning to crochet because you don't find them here unless they are at the pricier stores -they ARE beautiful but not in my budget and wouldn't last through the work I do - gets natty - So learning fingerless gloves and in more rugged material were a blessing In the fall winter I am often outside where the first thing I noticed were jacket sleeves that rode up -there was always that inch or so of space around the wrist I would use old cut off wool socks - but that didn't anchor them in place really - So I began teaching myself to crochet - and they are the hottest things around here…Read More - because there are others who don't ever think of them but went bonzai when I wore mine I was surpised at what a WARM wrist does for you your blood vessels are RIGHT THERE - and carry the cold The covering on the hand is great for dealing with items that are cold too - and having the fingers free makes them versatile Yes I have mittens and gloves - but they don't cover the wrist or partial forearm and I have a couple pair I made where the top cap flips over the fingers I use my hands and fingers a lot Here's a hint too - I have had several photographers ask for them - because they are often out snapping shots in the cold dawn chillier early morn - and yes it takes it's toll on the wigglies which they need for settings So three cheers for fingerless cloves for those of us that work with our hands and need fingers in all seasons Jen

Call me dumb...stupid...or just not 'with it'. For the life of me I simply don't get "fingerless gloves". I asked my dil what the purpose in these were and she said that some people use them for driving...(Has no one heard of warm, lined leather gloves)? But, I'm sorry folks...I simply don't see the 'fingerless gloves' to keep your hands warm...especially winter gloves. Come on, already. If anyone ever gives me these for Christmas or my birthday they will most assuredly get donated or perhaps tossed in the trash. I want my hands warm in the winter...all of the hand. These things sell like hotcakes here!! I can't knit or crochet them fast enough for the demand. tweens, preteens, women, all love them!! I do also.

cI made these for my daughter who is always cold. I changed to a two ply yarn and needle size G/4.00. Her wrists are covered and warmer. I like this pattern and will make more of these.

Just one simple question, Is there any possible way to make these and use a 3.75 needle, or slightly larger one with normal threads, Because that type of fluffy yarn always gets me confused of where My stitches are and I do not want to ruin it, Nor waste yarn by getting tangled up and lost. Please and thankyou!
