After looking at that Swanky yarn, I can see why it was probably discontinued. Having all those sequins scattered amongst the strands would put a definite limit on what types of projects you would work with this. Ive seen similar yarns by other manufacturers also wind up in the remainders bin, too, so Red Heart is by no means alone. Fortunately, there are a number of other yarns out there that would work just as well to work up this simple scarf.

I began to try crocheting at 8 yrs. old my grandmother did it and I sat beside her and watched with curosity. Now at 64 my grandkids are doing the same. I love it and its a good passtime.

I have 37 grandchildren and I've taught several of them--including some of the boys--how to crochet. Some of my girls have even started their own little businesses by selling small items to their friends!

This Swanky Scarf is going to be exactly right for a dress that I bought recently. The color shown is just beautiful and I love that the sparkles are built into the yarn! Red Heart yarns are not available here in South Africa so I really hope it is available online because I have seriously fallen in love with this pattern.

Tried this craft? What did you think?

Thank you, designer, for sharing this "Swanky Scarf" pattern with the world. It looks amazing on the model! This plum color is turning out to be my new favorite color. The paillettes (which are built right in to the yarn) do all the work for you at making this scarf look like a million bucks. I have never worked with this yarn before because I have never seen a pattern I liked. Now I do!

I'm a beginner, and I'm so glad to have found this pattern that's fun, beautiful, and only uses one type of yarn!

I just had to comment on the new look of the page - love it!!! Wow
