Small Helicopter Crochet Applique

"There are many different kinds of girlish appliques, but it is usually problematic to find suitable crocheted applique for the boys. While crocheting baby boy summer hat I got the idea of this cute and adorable little helicopter applique. Believe me it is easy and very fast pattern if you know how to crochet basic stitches. It can be made to use on sweaters, hats, scarfs and other clothes. I hope you will enjoy this super charming helicopter and surprise your little one."

I have grown sons now and they can be difficult to shop for. So I hunt for things that will mean something to them. Last summer, my oldest had the opportunity to fly a helicopter and he sent me a picture. This would be great in a frame with that picture to commemorate the occasion for him.

Appliques are so fun. Some times I have no need for an applique when I take the time to make it but before I can get it completed it seems to find a home. This little helicopter would be adorable on a book bag for a little boy or a shirt. I am saving this for future use. Thanks for sharing.

This is very cute and very useful for me. I have twin 18 month old grand sons. And just as the designer said, it's very hard to find embellishments to add to boys projects. This is just great. And the pieces can be sewed on using regular sewing thread! Thank you!

I love this appliqu, but looking at just this pattern, I have no idea what hook or yarn size to use. Im also not thrilled with the directions to glue the parts together since they could come apart during washing. Im sure there is a way to sew them instead of glue them. I went back to the original pattern (link at the bottom of the page) to see if I could find more information. I found yarn and hook sizes for the hat, but dont know if theyre applicable to the decoration.

Hi Jane, We've included hook size and yarn weight for this project! If you look below the Beginner label and the link to access the pattern, you'll see some information about the pattern include hook size, yarn weight and the finished size. Julia, editor for AllFreeCrochet
