If you have a hook and a skein of yarn then it doesn't matter how old you are. You don't have to be a granny in order to become a crocheter anymore. Work up crochet granny squares with some amazing never ending afghans; you'll find free patterns for everyone.

February 11, 2013 - Northbrook, Illinois - The theory of being a granny in order to be a crocheter has just gone out the window. We've learned that someone even as young as a toddler can learn how to crochet. We also know that whether young or old, everyone can snuggle up with an afghan. Crochet granny squares can be great to work up, so let's get wrapped in our warm and cozy blankets. Those you never would have guessed even know how to crochet.

According to The Columbus Dispatch, inmates at a prison in Ohio are making crochet sleeping mats for the homeless. These crochet mats are made out of plarn or plastic yarn (yarn made from plastic bags). "About a dozen residents on a prison unit where women get help preparing to re-enter society work on the 6-by-4 foot crocheted mats. Each mat requires 600 to 900 bags." It's amazing how the most unsuspected of people can learn how to crochet. Some inmates even make crochet receiving blankets for infants or foster care children. They can find free crochet afghan patterns in our latest eBook Never Ending Grannies: 8 Crochet Granny Squares.

In this eBook you can find crochet patterns for unique afghans. Although each of the granny squares might look very similar, they are in fact very different. Each square can be made using one single strand of yarn or at most, up to seven strands at once! Crocheters might find it difficult to use multiple strands of yarn at once, but if you follow the diagrams and crochet instructions provided then you can design a beautiful crochet afghan all on your own.
