Crochet HookK/10.5 or 6.5 mm hook

How to Crochet an Oversized Shawl

Oversized Shawl Crochet Pattern Instructions

Notes: 
The ch 3 at the beginning of each row will count as your first dc.
The shawl is made from the top middle to the bottom point. 

  1. Ch 4.

  2. Row 1: Working in the first chain, (3 dc, ch 3, 4 dc). (10 sts).

  3. Rows 2-35: Ch 3, turn; dc in the same stitch, dc in each st to the ch-space, working in the chain space (dc, ch 3, dc), dc to the last st, 2 dc in the last st.

    *Note: You can adjust the length by increasing or decreasing the row count. Keep in mind that if you add fringe, this will add to the length.

  4. How to Create the Fringe on Your Shawl: Cut yarn in lengths of 20”, or desired length. Working with 4 strands per section. 

  5. Fold strand in half, pull center loop through stitch, pull ends through center loop and pull to tighten. Cut evenly.
