Crochet HookK/10.5 or 6.5 mm hook

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Materials:

  • 760-134 Lion Cotton Yarn: (A) 1 Avocado ball
  • 760-145 Lion Cotton Yarn: (B) 1 Orchid ball
  • 760-159 Lion Cotton Yarn: (C) 1 Mustard ball
  • Lion Brand Crochet Hook - Size K-10.5
  • Large-Eye Blunt Needles (Set of 6)
  • Purchased flip flops

GAUGE:

10 single crochet = 4 in. (10 cm) with 2 strands of yarn held together. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STRAP WRAP
With 1 strand each of A and B held together, make a slip knot. Holding the strands across top of flip flop strap, insert hook under strap and yarn over, creating 2 loops on hook, yarn over again and pull strands through both loops - single crochet around strap made.
Continue working until strap is covered.

FINISHING
Ruffle
Join 1 strand each of A and C held together with slip stitch in first single crochet of Wrap.
Row 1: *Chain 3, slip stitch in next stitch; repeat from * across Wrap. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
