Floral Flip Flops
Looking for easy free crochet patterns? Buy a plain pair of flip flops and dress them up with the flowers to make some fun floral flip flops. Choose brightly colored yarn if you're looking for a fabulous summer look. You'll only need a little bit of Lion Brand yarn in any colors to complete this free crochet pattern. It's also a great way to bust through your yarn stash. Slip your feet into these homemade sandals this summer and turn heads everywhere you go.
Crochet HookG/6 or 4 mm hook
Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)
Materials:
- 830-145 Cotton-Ease: 1 Plum ball
- 830-134 Cotton-Ease: 1 Terracotta ball
- 830-194 Cotton-Ease: 1 Lime ball
- Lion Brand Crochet Hook - Size G-6
- Large-Eye Blunt Needles (Set of 6)
- Pompom Maker
- Craft glue
- Purchased flip-flops
GAUGE:
Exact gauge is not essential to this project.
FLOWER (make 2)
With C, ch 4. Join with sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in ring. Join with sl st in beg sc.
Rnd 2:Ch 1, work 3 sc in each st around. Fasten off C.
Rnd 3: Join B with sl st in any st, ch 1, *dc in next st, tr and dc in next st, ch1, sl st in next sc, rep from * around (6 petals), sl st in beg st. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Cut A into 3 yd. (3 m) lengths. Apply a small amount of glue to flipflop thong at point where it joins sole. Secure one end of A in glue. Continue applying glue to thong, about 1 in. (2.5 cm) at a time, and continue wrapping with A working towards toe end of flipflop. End off yarn at toe piece of thong. Rep to wrap other half of thong. Glue a Flower to center of each thong.
Pompoms (make 2)
Following package directions, make 2 small pompoms with A. Glue a Pompom to center of each flower.
