Colorful Crocheted Rainbow

Make a beautifully Colorful Crocheted Rainbow this spring season. All the colors are sure to brighten up your day. A rainbow pattern like this is easy to work up and uses single crochet. Add it as a fun embellishment or turn it into a magnet.

Crochet HookG/6 or 4 mm hook

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Materials:

  • Small Amounts of Rainbow Colors (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet)                                                    
  • Crochet Hook Size G/4.5mm
  • Needle (for sewing in ends)
  • Scissors

Stiches Used:

Slip Knot (sk)
Single Crochet (sc)
Chain (ch)

Finished Size: Approximately 5 in wide by 3 in tall.  (Size will vary with size hook used and yarn.)

Instructions:
Attach Yarn to hook with Slip Knot - Chain 8 in Violet
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, 2 sc in next ch, sc in next ch, 2 sc in next ch,  sc in next 2 ch, Change Yarn to Indigo, Turn. (9 stitches)
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc.  Change to Blue, turn.  (11 stitches) 
Row 3: Ch 1, sc I next 2 sc, *(2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc), Repeat *4 times, sc in next sc.   Change to Green, Turn.  (15 stitches)
Row 4: Ch 1, *(sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc), *Repeat, sc in next 3 sc, *(2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc) *Repeat.  Change to Yellow, Turn.  (19 stitches)
Row 5: Ch 1, sc in next 3 sc, *(2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc) *Repeat 4 times.  Change to Orange, Turn.  (23 stitches)
Row 6: Ch 1, sc in next sc, *(2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc), *Repeat 5 times, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc.  Change to Red, Turn.  (29 stitches)
Row 7: Ch 1, sc in next 14 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 14 sc.  Fasten Off
Finish: Using your Yarn Needle, bury ends in your work.
