Pouch

  1. Ch 70.

  2. Row 1 (right side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn—69 sts.

  3. Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as first dc here and throughout), dc in each st, turn. 

  4. Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as first dc, ch 1 here and throughout), skip next st, dc in next st, *ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st; repeat from * across, turn—35 dc and 34 ch-1 spaces. 

  5. Row 4: Ch 2, dc in first ch-space, *ch 1, skip next st, dc in next ch-space; repeat from * to beginning ch-2, dc in top of beginning ch-2, turn—36 dc and 33 ch-1 spaces. 

  6. Row 5: Ch 2, dc in each st and ch-1 space across, turn—69 dc. 

  7. Rows 6–10: Ch 2, dc in each st, turn.

  8. Rows 11–13: Repeat Rows 3–5—69 dc.

  9. Rows 14–18: Repeat Row 6

  10. Rows 19–26: Repeat Rows 11–18.

  11. Rows 27–29: Repeat Rows 11–13.

  12. Row 30: Ch 1, sc in each st. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing

  13. With wrong sides and ends of rows held together, fold in half and sew across first and last rows to form sides of pouch.

Flap

Note: After Round 1, continue in turned rows. Holding pouch with opening facing, join yarn with slip st in top right corner at back of pouch.

  1. Round 1: Ch 1, working across ends of rows, work 43 sc evenly across back edge, work 44 sc evenly across front edge; join with slip st in first sc—87 sc.

  2. Row 2: Ch 3, skip next st, dc in next st, *ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st; repeat from * 20 times, turn—22 dc and 21 ch-1 spaces.

  3. Row 3: Ch 2, dc in first ch-1 space, *ch 1, skip next st, dc in next ch-1 space; repeat from * to beginning ch-2, dc in top of beginning ch-2, turn—23 dc and 20 ch-1 spaces.

  4. Row 4: Ch 3, skip next st, dc in next ch-1 space, *ch 1, skip next st, dc in next ch-1 space; repeat from * to last 2 sts, ch 1, skip next st, dc in top of beginning ch-2, turn—22 dc and 21 ch-1 spaces.

  5. Rows 5–24: Repeat Rows 3 and 4 ten times. Fasten off.
