Macchiato Hat

Macchiato Hat

"This color work hat is made with the single crochet stitch combined with a single crochet spike stitch creating a textured, layered tweed-like effect. The Macchiato Hat is worked from the bottom up in seamless rounds without joining. Beginning with one round of single crochet stitches in the main color and then switching to the contrasting color for the next round of spike stitches for a two-round repeat for the main body of the hat. You will not be fastening off colors between rounds but instead leaving a tall loop at the end of each round then working the next round, leave a tall loop, insert hook into tall loop from previous round and continue changing colors each round. No additional ends to weave in! Once the main body of the hat is finished you will add the ribbing at the end. Before adding the ribbing there are two rounds of half double crochet with the last hdc round worked in the third loop creating a nice edge before adding the ribbing. Video tutorial provided for this stitch. One of the best features of this stitch pattern is that it is so very easy to change up sizes! Since this pattern doesn’t have a specific stitch multiple you can add or subtract any amount of chains to start. Complete video tutorial provided for the single crochet spike stitch with color changes provided as well!"
