  1. Ch 46.

  3. 2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *1 sc in next ch-1 space (sp). Ch 1. Skip next sc. Rep from * to last sc. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.

  14. Rep last 4 rows 5 times more. Place marker at end of last row. 45 sts.

  15. Cont even in pat until work from marker measures 6" [15 cm], ending on a wrong side (WS) row. Fasten off.

  16. Sew foundation ch and last row together (tog).

  17. Fringe: Cut lengths of yarn 24" [61 cm] long. Taking 2 strands together (tog), fold in half and knot into fringe around entire pointed edge of Cowl. Trim fringe evenly.
