Earth Toned Crochet Afghan

With this free crochet afghan pattern you can make an Earth Toned Crochet Afghan. Using neutral colors that can easily match your home decor is a great way to add a little design to any room. The half double crochet stitch was used in panels making this a quick afghan to work up.

Crochet HookH/8 or 5 mm hook

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Tip
: Each panel is crocheted using a full skein of yarn. If you're making an afghan with 9 panels, you need 9 skeins of yarn. If you're making a larger afghan with 11 panels you'll need 11 skeins of yarn and so on.

Materials:

  • 9 skeins Worsted weight yarn (approx. 170 yards each)
    • Vanna's Choice in Dusty Blue, Beige, Taupe (or choice of color)
  • H hook
  • Darning Needle

Instructions:

Chain 13 and turn.
Row 1: HDC into second stitch from hook then into each stitch across row, chain 1 and turn (12 sts).
Row 2: Repeat row 1 until the skein runs out to create your first panel. Continue to do the same with all your panels.

Finishing:

Join panels using whip stitch or any stitch you wish. Every stitch to join will create a different look for your afghan, so it's just a matter of what look you're going for.
Weave in ends.

Note: If panels are slightly different in length you can either leave as is or pull out a few rows to make them even. Here are some choices on how to join panels in a crochet afghan.
