How to Crochet a Treble Stitch

This tutorial shows many images that will help you learn how to crochet a treble stitch. You'll have so many more crochet patterns that you'll be able to work up after you learn the treble stitch. Use this tutorial, practice it on a pattern, and then show others how to do this stitch. You'll look like a professional crocheter when you teach others!

  1. To start to make a row of treble crochet, first chain 3.
  2. Yarn over the hook 2 times. (3 loops on the hook.)
  3. Insert the hook into the next stitch.
  4. Hook onto the yarn.
  5. Pull through the stitch. (4 loops on the hook.)
  6. Hook onto the yarn.
  7. Pull through 2 loops. (3 loops remaining on the hook.)
  8. Hook onto the yarn.
  9. Pull through 2 loops. (2 loops remaining on the hook.

  10. Hook onto the yarn.
  11. Pull through the last 2 loops on the hook (1 loop remaining on the hook.) Repeat steps from 2 to 11 for each treble crochet.
  12. At the end of the row of treble crochet, chain 3.
  13. Turn the work to begin working on the next row.

NOTE: Always insert the hook into the second stitch of the row, as the chain 3 is equivalent to the first treble crochet of the row. Photo 14.

How do I crochet a double treble stitch?

can you show me how to do a trbp around the double just made looks like. it seems to be worked around the doubles post all the way up ending up with just one post but I come up with 2 posts.

Can you illustrate "skip 3 stitches, treble crochet, go back and hdc the 3 skipped stitches"?

thanks i am working a pattern and dtr is instructed now i can continue

mistyhicks 5153275, a double treble is worked by wrapping 3 times before inserting hook into stitch, and a triple treble is worked by wrapping 4 times before inserting hook into stitch. The loops are worked off the hook by twos just as they are in the treble. HTH

I know how to treble stitch, but what or how do you do a dbl treble?????
