Make this beautiful Doily Tank Cover Up for yourself or a friend. The detailing of this free crochet pattern is so gorgeous. You can wear the cover up over a bathing suit top or a t-shirt. The design was inspired by go figure, a doily.

SUGGESTION: Lion® Cotton Yarn
CROCHET HOOK: Size J/10 (6.00mm)-Or size needed to obtain gauge.
NOTIONS: Yarn needle

GAUGE: Using size J/10 (6mm) Crochet Hook, 13 dc and 7 rows=4" (10 cm).

Special Stitches
Beginning double treble decrease (beg dtr dec):

Cover-Up Body

Ch 7, sl st in first ch to form ring.

Rnd 1: Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), 23 hdc in ring, join with sl st to 2nd ch of beg ch-2—24 hdc made.

Rnd 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 4 dc in same st [sk 2 hdc, 5 dc in next hdc] around.
Ending with sk last 2 hdc, joining with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3— (8) 5 dc groups.

Rnd 3: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in each of next 4 dc, ch 5, [dc in each of next 5 dc, ch 5] around.
Ending last rep with ch 5, join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3—(8) 5 dc groups.

Ch 175 or more or less for desired length of back tie.

Lace through back loops in a crisscross fashion.

I would make two of the body and connect them at the shoulders and under the arms. Using double crochet or treble crochet, make a rectangle to connect the two together, and use a slip to connect. Love it very much!
